Scourge is in a fun place where you can play a whole variety of builds. However, too often I see people forget the role of Scourge; Scourges' main and first priority is to strip/corrupt boons, damage is secondary. With our build you should aim for 60-90 boons corrupted per minute, small shades will help you corrupt more during longer duration fights. To see the amount of boons you corrupted, click on your name in AREA STATS of ARCDPS and check 'strip out'. We have been running Curses/Spite since the Dhuumfire nerf due to aforementioned reasons; we prioritize corrupts over damage. Personally, if you want to prioritize damage over corrupts, I'd rather you relogged to staff Weaver, since it's simply better at AoE damage. I sometimes monitor the Scourges on our server via AREA STATS and I found that SR Scourges corrupted ~30 boons a minute vs 60+ of people with playing our build, furthermore they also did around the same damage. After switching to our build they did the same damage they did before and double the corrupts, however, this is all purely anecdotical. I suggest you try for yourself. The damage split between power&condi damage is something close to 65-60/40-35, that's why we opted for Sigil of Bloodlust & Power Stone. With the recent change to Lingering Curse, Scepter becomes the go-to MH(main hand) weapon. You can either choose to pick Axe/x for the additional melee corrupts/damage or opt for Staff for the ranged pressure and cleanse. Personally, I opt for Scepter/Dagger + Axe/Torch, because it's simply the best choice in regards to corrupts/damage, however, there is utility in Staff and that's why it is mentioned as an alternative. Since the recharge cooldown of big shade got nerfed, small shades aren't that bad anymore. Big shades have better area control and offer bigger/faster spike for both damage and corrupts, however, because of the lower recharge cooldown of the small shade, small shades tend to work better during sustained/longer fights. Additionally, small shades offer way better sustain through the boon steal. Because of this, during a keep fight, or when there is a lack of Firebrands/support, one might opt for small shades, purely for the extra sustain. Nevertheless, in most scenario's big shades simply are better and as such they're listed as our main choice.
As mentioned in the 'Notes' your main priority is boon corruption: - Manifest Shade (F1), due to Unending Corruption simply spawning the shade will corrupt 1 boon per target, cap is 3 or 5 per shade. - Nefarious Favor (F2), due to Path of Corruption the shade(s) will corrupt 1 boon per target, cap is 3 or 5 per shade. - Death Shroud (F5), due Spiteful Spirit the shade(s) you will corrupt 2-4 boons (600 radius) - Well of Corruption, 5 boons per second for 5 pulses (=seconds) - Ghastly Breach, 5 boons per second for 5 pulses (=seconds) - Trail of Anguish and Sand Swell, both strip 1 per second, but are less reliable due to their main usages. - Devouring Darkness (Scepter #3), 3 boons corrupted - Unholy Feast (Axe #3), 2 boons corrupted - Enfeebling Blood (Dagger #5), 1 boon corrupted The above can be combined in several ways, I will list some of the more common ways: - small bomb (every 10-15 sec): Manifest Shade -> Devouring Darkness + Nefarious Favor (you can F2-F5 during casting other skills, such as Devouring Darkness) + Sand Cascade (F3, extra damage+barrier), 2 corrupts + damage, more corrupts if another shade is up already - big bomb (every 30-40 sec): Well of Corruption, cast Shade #1 (if [small] cast shade #2 if possible) -> be in 600 range (can use Sand Swell) -> Unholy Feast while casting F2+F3+(F4)+F5 -> try fitting Devouring Darkness in here before going to Axe/x - if the situation allows for it use Ghastly Breach during the big bomb - use Devouring Darkness in combination with any of these bombs, try to prioritize this skill since it corrupts the most boons - use Unholy Feast in combination with any of these bombs, try to be on Axe when in range as much as possible. - try to combine corrupts as much as possible, more corrupts at the same time is generally a good thing Scepter tips: - spam #1 on anyone in range - use #2 as AoE damage, so in combination with any of the shade spikes, it does considerable amount of damage. - use #3 whenever in range and whenever you can combine it with your corrupt spikes. Dagger tips: - save #4 for cleanse, keep in mind it can get reflected though. - use #5 in combination with Devouring Darkness if possible Axe tips: - spam #1 on anyone in range - use #2 on low targets in range, esp with Lesser Spinal Shivers proccing you can 10k-0 other scourges in 1.5 sec - use #3 when in range in combination with small or big bomb Torch tips: - use #4 as additional damage when spiking in 600 range - use #5 when focussing a single target Staff tips: - generally you use Staff #2, Staff #3 and Staff #5 for pressure - save Staff #4 for condi cleanse, it's the strongest cleanse you have, with a maximum of 15 condi's cleansed (transfers 3 per target) Aim for 60-90 corrupts per minute.
